What is Avalanche ® Explorer?
At its core Avalanche ® Explorer (explorer.avax.network) is a read-only interface to blockchain data — block history, transaction details, token lists, and validator metrics. It’s equivalent to Etherscan for Avalanche and complements other tools such as avax.network and community explorers like snowtrace.io.
Does Avalanche ® Explorer require login?
Usually, no. The explorer’s primary features are public and don’t require an account. Some advanced developer services (APIs, dashboards, or analytics portals) may offer optional accounts, API key management, or rate-limited services requiring sign-in — those are separate from the base explorer. If you see a “login” prompt, confirm the domain and follow verified sign-in steps for that service only.
Troubleshooting common access issues
If you encounter problems such as Avalanche Login not working or Error Connecting Avalanche ® Account, try these steps:
- Confirm official domain: only use
explorer.avax.networkor links from avax.network. - Clear cache / hard reload: cached scripts can cause UI glitches — clear browser cache and reload in a private window.
- Disable extensions: privacy blockers or script-blocking extensions can break explorer features.
- Check network status: outage or RPC issues can prevent API-backed pages from loading — check official status pages or the Avalanche® Twitter/Discord for incident notices.
- API or account issues: if you use an API key or a third-party analytics login, verify your credentials and rate limits on the provider’s dashboard.
Account recovery & 2FA considerations
Because the explorer itself is mainly read-only, account recovery and Avalanche 2fa reset apply only to services that require accounts (for example, API dashboards). For wallet-based access on Avalanche® apps — recovery always depends on your wallet (seed phrase, hardware wallet). The explorer or Avalanche® team cannot recover private keys or seed phrases for you.
When the Avalanche ® App (or connected tools) won’t work
- Avalanche App not working: update the app, clear local data or reinstall; ensure you’re on the correct network (C-Chain vs X/P Chains).
- Can't verify Avalanche ® transactions: verify the transaction hash in the explorer and check confirmations; if signatures fail, confirm the signing wallet and nonce.
- Avalanche error decline: insufficient gas, wrong nonce, or network congestion can cause declines — check fees and retry with adjusted gas limits.
